DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Fig. 1A shows a side view of one embodiment of a single metal spring 4 ready for compacting comprising; a movable powered ram 2, a fixed resistance block 8, and a metal spring 4 in its equilibrium length position there being no forces applied to spring 4 along its restoring force axis 6.

In more detail, still referring to the invention of Fig. 1A, in operation the movable powered ram 2 moves laterally to the metal spring 4 restoring force axis 6 and starts to compress the metal in metal spring 4 beyond its bending point against the fixed resistance block 8, the metal spring 4 begins losing its restoring force along its restoring force axis 6 and continues to lose its restoring force along its restoring force axis 6 until such time as the metal in metal spring 4 reaches complete failure or the compressive power limit of moveable ram 2 is reached or both, thus reducing the
